Pagani Zonda Speaks of Italian Craftsmanship

Horatio Pagani founded Pagani Composite Research in 1988. He was the former manager of Lamborghini's composites division and started creating the design on his own car, a project called simply the "C8 Project."
The original plan called for renaming the C8 the "Fangio F1" to honour Juan Manuel Fangio, a driver who held the title as a Formula One winner five times.

The Modena Design became a reality in 1991 as Pagani struggled to meet an increase in the demand for the services he provided in the areas of design, engineering and outsourcing his expertise in prototyping.
Pagani began constructing the prototype for the Fangio F1 in 1992, but by the time the last vehicle was manufactured, it was renamed the Zonda C12—Fangio passed away in 1995, so the name change was done out of respect.
The Zonda C12 first appeared in public at the Geneva Motor Show in 1999.
In 2005 Pagani announced plans to market the Zonda in the United States beginning in 2007.

Pagani Zonda

The Zonda is the first model the company manufactured. The engine is a 12-volt DOHC that Mercedes Benz produced at its AMG division.
Jet fighters and the Silver Arrow Group C cars provided inspiration for the car's design.
The Zonda includes several rather unique features such as a four-pipe exhaust in a circular formation.

Pagani Zonda C12

The Zonda C12 is a concept that was borne out of the passion of a small boy.
This model is also the first supercar that was built right in the studio of San Cesar sul Panaro.
The overall performance of the car is the result of the engine and is further enhanced as you see flames in a bright blue hue spewing from the exhaust system.

Even though the car has a rather unique concept surrounding its design, the outer shell is made of fibre carbon, and the Mercedes-Benz engine provides the vehicle with up to 394 horsepower and a torque power of 570 Nm.
When the design called for mounting the engine in a central position, the concept was to allow the car to achieve the highest levels in both torque and engine power with as little weight as possible.

They achieve this by using composite materials for the chassis as well as the bodywork thus making the structure of the vehicle resistant and lightweight yet guaranteeing the most comfort for the driver.

Zonda R

The Pagani Zonda R is a model that is designed solely for the racetrack rather than street driving.
Its classification as a supercar means there are no limits, and you can only experience that feeling of freedom on the track.
The inspiration for the Pagani Zonda R came directly from the F version although its wheelbase is longer at the request
of a particular customer.

The exterior shell of the vehicle is made of carbon-titanium thus making it stronger yet lighter than it might be with a different material. The V12 Mercedes-Benz AMG engine is designed specifically as a racing engine, which means it has to have superior performance. It operates at 650 horsepower with 710 Nm of torque power.

The design of the gearbox allows the vehicles to change gears in only 20 milliseconds.
This lightning fast speed definitely makes for exceptional high performance and ease of handling on the track.
The addition of the Bosch Motorsport traction control combined with a high functioning ABS system means the driver has the ability to completely adjust all the settings while the car is in motion.

Race cars depend on quick speed in order to win races, and even those who are only looking to race for fun certainly want to make the most of the experience.
This means not only does the vehicle need to shift gears quickly, but it also needs to accelerate with lightening
fast speed.
In the case of the Zonda R, you certainly don't have to worry about losing a race because it doesn't accelerate quickly enough: this speed demon can go from 0-100 km/h in no more than 2.7 seconds.

The car is equipped with Brembo brakes of carbon ceramic material; these material on the brakes make sure they can bring the car to a complete stop in less time than it takes the vehicle to reach 100 km/h.
All of these high performance features and safety standards must follow Pagani specifications and quality standards before they reach the hands of customers.
There is no second chance for quality or safety on the racetrack!
