New Land Cruiser For Sale
We've Got The New Toyota Landcruiser for Sale
The new Toyota Landcruiser LC5 for sale in today's market is aimed as much at the on-road driver as the off-road
one. Yes, this is a sports utility vehicle (SUV), and Toyota has put a lot of emphasis on promoting its off-road
capabilities, but the truth is that a lot of people never take their Toyota Landcruiser LC5 off the road
anyway.
This car has a very traditional body-on-frame construction, more commonly seen in cars of the 1930s and 1940s.
However, this construction is ideal for the muddy, rugged, bone-jarring off-road conditions, and doesn't really do
much the enhance the smooth, peaceful, serene conditions of the motorway.
Interestingly, Toyota have not extended the length of the new Toyota Landcruiser LC5 over its predecessor. This has
been a common trend with each new model a bit longer than the last one, but the wheelbase and rear overhang of this
model is the same as before. One reason could be that longer vehicles don't travel over the really rough terrain as
well as less longer vehicles. If there's a lot of aiming for the sky, followed by plunging steeply and alarmingly
downhill, then you are better off with a vehicle that isn't too long and unwieldy. It seems Toyota are well aware
of this.
It's no wonder really that the world's longest car journey is still being made in a Toyota Landcruiser. Emil and
Liliana Schmid are currently twenty-seven years into their journey, which has mostly been undertaken off-road. They
even made it into the Guiness Book of Records, providing one more well-deserved record for the Landcruiser
too..
The new Toyota Landcruiser LC5 from the outside ...

This car is not the most stylish on the market, it has to be said, but it isn't an ugly duckling either. It has
definitely lost the rectangular, boxy, chunky looks of earlier models, and it now has a smoother, more rounded and
more curvy appearance. The big grille and headlights are swept back, giving the car a kind of grinning appearance,
which actually enhances its feeling of latent power, like a big cat about to pounce. The box shape is still there
if you look closely, but it's more refined and somehow more chunky in a modern kind of way.
It's interesting to note that Toyota seems more interested in what this car can do, rather than in how it looks.
You get the feeling that they would be happy to retain a 1970s type square look if they could get away with it. The
car's performance off-road is ultimately the more important feature, over whether or not it will woo buyers with a
sexy visual statement. The car's looks therefore, seem a bit of a compromise on Toyota's part. The body-on-frame
construction and rigid back axle, both essential features for the very rough side of rough terrain, say much more
about what the company really feels about their baby.
The new Toyota Landcruiser LC5 from the inside ...
The interior of the new Toyota Landcruiser LC5 for sale in today's market is nothing short of luxurious. First
impressions is of a leather interior, though in reality that's only the seats. And on the subject of seats, there
are three sets of seating, which can hold eight people comfortably. This gives you an idea of the kind of space
this car has. It's big and it feels big too, but the visibility is excellent, so that compensates a lot. People
sometimes wonder how anyone can drive a really big truck, but they forget that with good all-round visibility,
driving becomes easier, even if the vehicle is bigger than usual.
The car has a rather dizzying array of switches and knob around the dashboard. The design is not perhaps the best
arranged, or the most logical, but it's easy to get to grips with. One set of controls that are immediately obvious
are the two gear sticks. This is more logical, as one is for on-road conditions and the other is for off-road
conditions. It even has a Crawl Control, a setting that allows the car to literally crawl over seemingly impossible
terrain.
The controls are, by and large, driver-centric and easy to get at. The seating position for the driver is
ultra comfortable, but in a more relaxed and ready for action, kind of way. On long journeys the climate control,
or air conditioning, can deliver warm or cooled air in three different zone levels to suit everyone. There's wood
veneer panelling throughout the cabin, but in truth, it doesn't really fit, somehow, and might have been better
left out of the interior design. However, all in all, the interior space of this car is really excellent and
perfectly suited for long journeys where the going is not entirely smooth.
The new Toyota Landcruiser LC5 and its technical bits ...

At the heart of this huge beast lies a 3.0-litre four-cylinder engine. It has 171 brake horsepower and 302 lb-ft of
torque. The transmission is a five-speed automatic gearbox that will whip the Landcruiser from 0 to 62 mph in 11.7
seconds, and all the way up to its top speed of 109 mph. On average, the car will deliver 34.9 mpg, which is the
combined urban and rural fuel consumptions. It delivers a CO2 emission of 214 grams per kilometre.
The new Toyota Landcruiser LC5 for sale this year has a few extras that could be quite hands, like the all-round
video camera visibility.
This could be useful in extreme off-road conditions, as there's even one showing you the front wheel position. It
could warn you of large rocks immediately ahead, for example, but then, if the lens gets dirty ... If you need to
travel faster than you perhaps should in rough terrain, the Landcruiser's Adaptive Variable Suspension system with
Roll Posture Control will keep the car surprisingly straight, dampening excessive roll and making the steering
delightfully direct.
This is a car that only really comes into its own when it ventures off the road. It drives fine on motorways, and
even in town centres, but it feels like a caged beast, uneasy and not really at home in its own environment. When
you get off-road all the awkwardness melts away.
The car becomes beautiful and perfectly suited to where it is.
This is what the new Toyota Landcruiser LC5 for sale in today's market was really built for.
